What is Activity?
Activity is a modern comprehensive and secure business management system utilizing
a SQL database. Activity’s data-centric model allows users to see data
on-screen rather than hiding the data in forms accessible only through codes. Data
changes made by one user are instantly seen by all other users on their monitors.

Active Server Technology: Data is updated real time so that any change made by any
user automatically updates everyone's view of the data as soon as it is changed.
This provides a consistent view of the data without the hassle of refreshing the
screen to see the current state of the database.
Data-Centric Model: This feature allows users to choose data and then perform an
operation on that chosen data.
Change Log: All accounting systems audit dollars. However, Activity also allows you
to audit changes to critical data such as employee data and vendor data. Change
logs tell administrators who changed the data and when.
Security: Administrators
define security views for all users. This allows the separation of duties within
your company.
Default Answers: Each user of Activity can store multiple sets of
default “answers” to dialog questions to enhance the usability and consistency of
the system.
Multiple Companies: Create as many companies as you need in the Activity
System. User access is defined by company and function.
Import: Import information
from external systems or data from other companies within Activity through Activity
Automation. Payroll setup information, budgets, vendor records, invoices, payroll time
sheets, and general ledger postings are all importable.
Export: Data can be exported
to almost any format including XML, HTTP, Excel, database, etc.
Custom Fields: You can easily add personalized or more specific information to virtually any entity.
There are many different data types for custom fields such as an Exchange folder
(email reference), Internet address (web sites), network folder, file, string, or
reference. You can also add validation tables for the reference data type. Custom
field data is functional for selecting, filtering, sorting, and mass change.
Mass Change: Massive data changes to the database are fast and easy with the mass change
capability. You no longer must “visit” each record with the GUI form to change data.
Data Links: Data maintenance and consistency is greatly enhanced with the data link
capability that allows you to associate like data in different tables. For example,
an employee’s address can be linked to an AP vendor. When the address is changed
in one table (AP), the data link will automatically change the related data in the
other table (PR).
Reports: View, print, export, or design essential reports using
Crystal Reports™. Multiple named report designs are available for each report and
are selectable at run time.
Filter and Sort: This capability allows the user to
implement a query directly on the data and immediately view the results.
Help: Context sensitive help is available throughout the Activity System.
